Aquarium Special Events

Pre-registration is required for all workshops. Call (732) 899-1659. Workshop price includes all day Aquarium admission on the day of the workshop. Workshops for children ages 5 & up unless otherwise noted. Workshops are subject to cancellation.

World Ocean Day

Sunday 6/07/09 All Day All Ages General Admission

Water, water everywhere…makes you stop and think! Join us for this worldwide celebration of the ocean and explore what you can do every day to help conserve our oceans and help keep our waterways clean. This special event is FREE with paid general admission.

Junior Keepers

Sunday 6/14/09 9:00am-12:00pm

Ages 11-15 only $40 per child

This program provides the opportunity to experience the aquarium from an employee’s point of view. Our “helpers” will assist with animal enrichment, logging, and feeding some of our animals. Sneakers are required! Call to pre-register: 732-899-1659.

Behind the Scenes Tour

Saturday 6/20/09 9:30am-11:00am

Ages 5 and up only $14 for adults & $10 for children

Discover what goes on behind the scenes of the aquarium. Learn what it takes to feed, clean, and enrich all of our animals. Tour the building from top to bottom while learning about our aquarium inhabitants. Closed-toed shoes are required! Call to pre-register: 732-899-1659.

Fathers Day

In honor of Father’s Day, admission is free to fathers with a paid child admission.

Dissection Workshop MS/HS students

Saturday 6/27/09 9:30am-11:00am

Ages 12 and up $15 per person

Do you enjoy learning about anatomy? Dissect a squid and a fish to learn about the differences between these two animals. Call to pre-register: 732-899-1659.

July and August

SEAfari Camp

July 7 – August 20

Tuesday through Thursday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Ages 6-10 only

SEAfari Campers will learn about the different animals at the aquarium & their relatives. From crafts & games to activities & live animal visits, this camp is sure to provide both a fun & educational experience. Sneakers are required. Each week will have its own theme. Registration begins May 2009.

FEE: $150.00 per child per week

Junior Keepers

July 6 – August 21

Mondays and Fridays 8:00 am to 1:00 pm Ages 11-15 only

A great program for future marine biologists, Junior Keepers provides the opportunity to experience the aquarium from an employee’s point of view. Our “helpers” will assist with various tasks including animal enrichment, logging, and feeding some of our animals. Each week will focus on a particular area of the aquarium and will include many activities. Sneakers are required. Registration begins May 2009.

FEE: $80.00 per child per day

Additional $10.00 to purchase Junior Keepers t-shirt
