Seals

Luseal (Nickname: Lucy) Birthday - probably the fall of 1989 Primary Trainer - Laura Distinguishing Features - She is smaller than her tank mates with slightly smaller spots on her coat. Weight - 130-150 pounds Personality Traits - Lucy is extremely intelligent, but can be stubborn at times. Interesting Fact - Lucy was born in the wild. She was stranded in the Point Pleasant / Bay Head Canal in February of 1991. Favorite enrichment toys - PVC pipe with tubing and rings

	Seaquin Birthday - March 26, 1991 Primary Trainers - Katie and Cindy Distinguishing Features - Seaquin has a dark, necktie-like marking running down the center of her chest Weight - 160-200 pounds Personality Traits - Seaquin is affectionate and is always eager to please. Interesting Fact - Seaquin has created several paintings to help raise money for the aquarium's conservation efforts. Favorite enrichment toys - Rings (she likes to toss them at her feeders!)

Coral Birthday - March 25, 1991 Primary Trainer - Jennifer Distinguishing Features - Coral has a light, crescent-shaped marking over her left eye Weight - 160-200 pounds Personality Traits - Coral is our "Daydreamer". Interesting Fact - Coral was born in captivity at Marine World Africa in Vallejo, California Favorite enrichment toys - Coral loves to play Frisbee -- especially when the Frisbee is tossed with a fish in it!

Penguins

	Burt Birthday - March 16, 1988 Bead Colors - 4 green on right wing Weight - 9 pounds Personality Traits - A very big, yet "polite" penguin. While other birds bite to get you to move out of the way, he waits patiently. Interesting Fact - married to an older female Favorite enrichment toy/other item - baby-linking letters Married to - Shadow Related to - Saba (offspring)

Checkers Birthday - February 18, 1995 Bead Colors - 2 light purple, 1 medium blue, 1 yellow on left wing Weight - 7.4 pounds Personality Traits - loves to chase the shadows on the ground for hours at a time. Interesting Fact - a model penguin (literally). You may have seen her in magazine photographs, on the "Today Show," and many others! Favorite enrichment toy/other item - Baby keys Married to - Raven Related to - Dassen (offspring), Kringle (sister), and Jonesy (father)

	Dassen (which is an island located off the coast of Africa) Birthday - November 17, 1998 Bead Colors - 2 dark pink, 1 transparent purple, 1 light purple on left wing Weight - 6.5 pounds Personality Traits - loves people and to have her picture taken. Interesting Fact - waddling in her mother's webbed-footsteps, she has been on many T.V. shows, magazine photographs and articles. She loves to "model" when she sees a camera. Favorite enrichment toy/other item - Plastic fish toys Married to - Onyx Related to - Raven (father), Checkers (mother), Kringle (aunt), Jonesy (grandfather)

Dunlop Birthday - February 4, 1993 Bead Colors - 2 dark blue, 1 red, 1 white on right wing Weight - 7.8 pounds Personality Traits - likes to take his time with everything that he is doing, walking, swimming, collecting nesting materials, etc. Interesting Fact - Dunlop was the first chick hatched at Jenkinson's Aquarium Favorite enrichment toy/other item - mini frisbees Married to - Kringle Related to - Onyx (brother), Jewel (mother), Shadow (aunt), Saba (cousin)

	Jewel Birthday - January 13, 1986 Bead Colors - 4 white on left wing Weight - 8.0 pounds Personality Traits - likes to be the protector of her nest box and of Jonesy. If one of the staff members even looks at Jonesy, she comes charging! Interesting Fact - largest female penguin and one of the oldest Favorite enrichment toy/other item - rocks Married to - Jonesy Related to - Onyx and Dunlop (offspring)

Jonesy Birthday - February 5, 1991 Bead Colors - 3 medium blue, 1 silver on right wing Weight - 7.4 pounds Personality Traits - loves to flirt with everyone, including staff members! All the female penguins love him. Interesting Fact - Jonesy is only 10 months older then his nephew L.P. Favorite enrichment toy/other item - the staff member's keys hanging from their belt loops Married to - Jewel Related to - Checkers and Kringle (offspring), Dassen (granddaughter), L.P. (nephew)

	Kapuki (meaning first born daughter) Birthday - June 30, 2005 Bead Colors - 2 transparent orange, 1 silver, 1 forest green on left wing Weight - 6.4 pounds Personality Traits - does not like male staff members or her younger brother. Interesting Fact - when she was first learning how to swim, she would jump in the pool feet first, instead of diving in. Favorite enrichment toy/other item - the bubble wand and staff shoelaces Married to - N/A Related to - Bahari (father), Messina (mother), and Tux (brother)

Kringle Birthday - December 14, 1995 Bead Colors - 2 dark purple, 1 medium blue, 1 yellow on left wing Weight - 7.4 pounds Personality Traits - Does not like to be away from Dunlop for longer then 10 seconds! Interesting Fact - has 2 white dots on either side of her head, making it appear as if she is "blushing" Favorite enrichment toy/other item - baby rattles Married to - Dunlop Related to - Jonesy (father), Checkers (sister), Dassen (niece)

	L.P. (stands for little penguin) Birthday - December 4, 1991 Bead Colors - 3 transparent blue, 1 silver on right wing Weight - 7 pounds Personality Traits - loves to run and to jump up stairs. Also likes to pull on the staff member's shirts and pants. Interesting Fact - some of his feathers on his head stand up, making it look like his has a spiked "hair-do" Favorite enrichment toy/other item - frisbees Married to - Saba Related to - Jonesy (uncle)

Raven Birthday - January 3, 1986 Bead Colors - 4 transparent purple on right wing Weight - 5.8 pounds Personality Traits - very good collector of nesting materials. He will even take items out of Checkers's beak so he can bring them to their nest box first! Interesting Fact - Jenkinson's Aquarium's oldest penguin Favorite enrichment toy/other item - rocks and nesting strips Married to - Checkers Related to - Dassen (offspring)

	Onyx Birthday - June 28, 1995 Bead Colors - 2 coral, 1 red, 1 white on right wing Weight - 8.8 pounds Personality Traits - loves the return jet of the filters in the pool. Onyx spends hours swimming against it, making it look like he is "surfing." Interesting Fact - afraid of paper towels Favorite enrichment toy/other item - turtle sprinkler Married to - Dassen Related to - Jewel (mother), Dunlop (brother), Shadow (aunt), Saba (cousin)

Saba (meaning the number 7) Birthday - June 6, 1995 Bead Colors - 2 peach, 1 green, 1 black on left wing Weight - 7.2 pounds Personality Traits - likes to be out of the exhibit more so then in it. Interesting Fact - Saba was the 7th chick hatched at the aquarium, which is where she got her name. Favorite enrichment toy/other item - kelp bed Married to - L.P. Related to - Shadow (mother), Burt (father), Onyx (cousin), Dunlop (cousin)

	Shadow Birthday - January 16, 1986 Bead Colors - 3 black, 1 copper on left wing Weight - 6.4 pounds Personality Traits - a very laid back older female Interesting Fact - Shadow has a very thick beak for a female penguin Favorite enrichment toy/other item- baby-stacking cups Married to - Burt Related to - Saba (offspring), Onyx and Dunlop (nephews)

Tux Birthday - July 15, 2006 Bead Colors - 2 maroon, 1 silver, 1 forest green on right wing Weight - 9.4 pounds Personality Traits - the "bully" of the penguin exhibit. Tux tends to pick on all of the other birds especially his older sister Kapuki. Interesting Fact - even though he is the youngest penguin, he is the heaviest! Favorite enrichment toy/other item - squeegee for the windows and the staff member's walkie-talkie antennas Married to - N/A Related to - Bahari (father), Messina (mother), Kapuki (sister)
